2013 Flood updates

The club shed was emptied but luckily did not flood. Everything back to normal. Thanks everyone!

Mon 28 Jan
The shed was mostly emptied and gear removed to safe locations.
Clearly no paddling possible. Do not use the pontoon as it has been subjected to raised, strongly flowing waters, and the river is dangerous when in flood.

Tue 29 Jan
So far the shed has not flooded.

Thu 31 Jan
The shed did not flood. It came within about 30 cm of the concrete slab outside. We plan to meet at the club shed to return gear at Saturday

The plan for Sat

  • 7:30 AM – smaller group meeting to clean the shed with gurneys (we’re taking the chance to give it a good clean). If you have a gurney and are available, please email enquiries.
  • 9:00 AM – more people needed to move gear and boats back to the shed. Please come along – especially if you have a roof rack able to carry boats. Queensland canoeing has once again come to our aid and has lent us their large trailer to help with the move (thankyou!).

Sat 2nd Feb
The shed was cleaned and boats and gear were returned. Thank you to everyone who helped out, and thanks too to Queensland canoeing.
