Green Flea Markets at West End

The Green Flea Market at West End is a popular destination for Saturday morning kayak trips. Members paddle towards the city, and meet at the markets at Davies park for tea/coffee/breakfast. Newcomers have a chance to meet other members of the club.

Some people also take the opportunity to do their weekly fruit & vegetable shopping. The markets sell a large selection of very cheap fruit and vegetables (including organic) – ideal for the student budget. International club members have the opportunity to experience Brisbane’s river lifestyle first-hand, and take away unique memories of their time spent living here.

Remember to plan how to carry your purchases home safely (e.g. take a sea kayak, carry bag, and a large plastic/garbage bag to cover everything and keep any water out).

Market trips meet at the club shed at 7:30 AM on Saturday mornings, and generally take a leisurely and social 2-3 hours

Take a photo tour of the markets.

Let’s hope the markets are part of the city council’s master plan for the area.

No Polo training on Tuesday

This is just a quick one to say that polo is NOT on at Uni this Tuesday (15/03). Polo will resume on the 22nd with fairly high intensity training to help those going to Sydney.
