Working Bee & BBQ

It’s time to repair collected wear and tear on the club boats, and get them ship-shape. So please come along and help keep the club functioning, active, and together (and get a barbecue brunch)!

We all use the boats, so please come along and “do your bit” to help keep the boats safe and functional for all. Even if you don’t know much, it’s a good chance to learn some boat maintenance, socialise and meet other club members. As a voluntary run club we’re only as good and active as our members!

After a very busy 2011 recovering from the floods, most of the club’s equipment is in very good condition. There are a few jobs that remain, and this is a chance to complete them.

We will have a barbecue afterwards and a bit of paddle if there is time.

Please write any problems you’ve come across on the equipment maintenance form (hanging on the shed’s noticeboard) so we know what to fix, and/or email the equipment officer and your discipline rep.

If you have any special skills (boat building, fibreglassing, gel coating, etc), or access to useful equipment (e.g. industrial sewing machine), then please let us know. Luckily these skills won’t be needed on the day.

Date: Sat, 17 Mar 2012
Time: from 7:30 AM
Meet: UQCC shed
Social: A free barbecue brunch (breakfast/lunch) will be held for helpers mid-morning
